On All Saints' Sunday, Opus 327 presents Gabriel Fauré's beloved Requiem, music the composer himself called a lullaby of death. Where other requiems thunder with judgment, Fauré's offers consolation, from the serene Pie Jesu to the radiant In Paradisum that closes the work with a vision of eternal rest. It is some of the most tender and comforting music ever written, and there is no better day to hear it than the day the church remembers its departed.

Andrew Lewis conducts the Choir of St. Luke's and the Bella Voce Sinfonia, joined by organist Michael Reese at the console of the church's 1922 E.M. Skinner organ, the historic instrument at the heart of Opus 327's mission. Voices, strings, and organ together in the resonant acoustics of St. Luke's make this an afternoon of rare beauty, a tribute to the departed and a balm for the living.
